JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a faith-based non-profit looking for a dedicated and energetic individual to join our team at The Storehouse, Covington’s Food Bank since 1999. This part-time position is for a client facing Warehouse Team Member & Truck Driver.

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Team Member & Truck Driver
START DATE: Immediately
PAY: Minimum Wage $16.00/Hour
AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be 25+
HOURS/SHIFTS: This is a part time position: 15-20 hours/week. Shifts are generally:
o Sunday: 8:30-10am
o Monday: 7:30am-10am
o Thursday: 6am-10am
o Friday: 7:30am-10am
o Saturday: 7am-11:30am
o Other/Events – Need Based

SITE SUPERVISOR: Operations Manager

ABOUT US
The Storehouse is a non-profit, food distribution program for families in the greater Covington area. We partner with local businesses, churches, civic groups, and schools to ease the burden of those we serve. Currently we serve 250-300 families weekly, and different ministries including drug/rehabilitation programs and community meals.

Our mission is to serve our neighbors, who are struggling with, or are vulnerable to food insecurity, by providing nourishing food, prayer, and referrals to other services.

TOP DUTIES (included, but are not limited to):

Assist Operations Manager with warehouse responsibilities.
Preparing the warehouse for daily activities (setting up tables/making boxes/sorting/ cleaning).
Reporting defects, accidents, and violations.
Maintain food safety at all times.
Obtaining client or customer signatures when needed.
Driving a refrigerator truck locally and to neighbor cities such as Fife and Seattle.
Weighing incoming/outgoing deliveries and verifying load for accuracy.
Loading and unloading box trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks.
Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
Performing pre- and post- trip vehicle inspections.
Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.).
Recording cargo deliveries, temperatures, content, and track shipments.
Maintaining a log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Communicating, interacting, and coordinating with The Storehouse team, clients, and partners in a professional manner. Fostering relationships.
Able to work both independently, making sound decisions, or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Organizational skills, general math skills and attention to detail.
Time management skills in planning routes, meeting delivery schedules and deadlines.
Confidentiality with clients and business operations.
Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo over 25lbs.
Operating/Certified in using a forklift & pallet jack (manual & electric).
Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading heavy cargo.
Ensure balanced and safe unloading and delivery at their destination.
A valid driver’s license with a maintained clean driving record.
Experience driving a 14-foot box truck.
Complying with safe truck driving rules and regulations – obeying applicable traffic laws.
Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving. Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandate that truck drivers must hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
