Currently hiring for both our Maple Valley and Kent locations. Seeking teachers with experience in K-12 education. K-6 Math and Reading a must, will prioritize candidates capable of providing Writing or upper level Math tutoring. This position is part time, our weekly schedule for tutoring is M-Th 330-730pm, Sat 930-1130am. We create our tutor schedules based on tutor availability, and cater to your schedule and availability.
As a successful Sylvan School Support Coach your duties and responsibilities will include:
Tutoring students in a 3:1 ratio using our SylvanSync Curriculum
Coordinating and developing communication strategies with parents and teachers
Assisting with keeping learning stations clean and in accordance with CDC guidelines
Communicating student’s needs to the center manager as needed
Developing a rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
Maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for academic success
Other duties as assigned to assist the center and team members as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English Literature, Mathematics or related field preferred
Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience
State level teaching credential or certification preferred (current or expired)
Familiarity with typical school assignments for basic reading, writing, and math skills
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment of constant change
Well organized and confident working independently but also a strong team player
Demonstrate effective communication with staff, students, and parents
Familiarity with current online academic learning platforms such as Google Classroom, GoNoodle, Seesaw, Blackboard, Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
We are providing a safe space for students and staff by creating 6′ distances between all occupants, requiring face masks to be worn in center, temp checks, sanitizing of all surfaces hourly, and safe protocols around students showing any sign of ailments
