Restaurants in Maple Valley Can Now Temporarily Expand Outdoor Seating

The City of Maple Valley and the Maple Valley Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce are committed to working with and supporting our businesses, especially during this period of Covid-19 restrictions.  While King County is in Phase 1.5 and when we move into Phase 2, restaurants are allowed 25% indoor seating capacity and 50% outdoor seating capacity.  The City and Chamber wish to help local business by establishing temporary outdoor seating.  Restaurants may expand their outdoor seating into parking areas which will be underutilized due to decreased capacity.  The City will have several conditions allowing temporary expanded outdoor seating. Shop Small Business Saturday - November 30th

This Saturday, November 30th is the annual Small Business Saturday. The Chamber has recently been sharing Facebook posts about the benefits of shopping small and local. We encourage all of you support your local business owners and spend your dollars in our own communities! According to reports, $0.67 of every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S. ends up staying in that local community, but the impact does not stop there. The Shop Small Consumer Impact Survey from American Express found that when consumers are award of their impact, 75% say they would be more likely to purchase a product or service from a small independently owned business.
