Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber Hires New Executive Director

The Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber announced today the hiring of their new Executive Director, Alyssa Saas, filling an open position previously held by Janelle Stallings.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and after my husband’s military service was complete, we settled in Black Diamond in 2003. We raised two children who attended school in the Enumclaw School District. I was a proud stay-at-home Mom while my children were young, and enjoyed all that came with raising them here in the Black Diamond/ Maple Valley area.

I am so excited and honored to be allowed to work within my community and invest my time and talents in advocating for our local business community. I look forward to meeting and serving current chamber members and cultivating new relationships within the community.

I have enjoyed many volunteer opportunities along the way which began in 2008 when a large beverage company tried to purchase the rights to our local drinking water. A committee was formed, and the citizens of this city had the chance to voice concerns regarding the sacrifice of such a valuable local resource. From there I went on to volunteer at the Black Diamond Community Center and various other outreach opportunities. In addition to my volunteer work, I also worked part-time at Rooters BBQ in Black Diamond for several years which was a fantastic experience, and I had the opportunity to meet so many of my neighbors in the process.

For the last thirteen years, I have been working in the marketplace as a project coordinator and have gained valuable skills and connections. It was a great experience, and I am very well-rounded professionally due to the fast-paced demands of the telecommunications industry.
