Job Description

Essential duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides evidence-based and /or promising mental health and/or substance use disorder services and psychosocial interventions through counseling and case management services based upon identified treatment needs specified in the client’s Individual Service Plan.

Diagnoses substance use disorder and/or mental health conditions in accordance with the most recently published Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (e.g. DSM-5) and ASAM requirements.

Develops and maintains working knowledge of community resources. Interacts and builds collaborative relationships with community partners, as needed, in support of treatment.

Integrates knowledge by thinking through and implementing the most professional, therapeutic reaction or intervention in any given client care situation.

Promotes and models teamwork and collaboration with coworkers.

Engages in clear, consistent, and professional communication with all clients, program staff, service providers and community members.

Adheres to ACA Code of Ethics and /or NAADAC code of ethics (dual licensed clinician) as well as professional and ethical standards for Mental Health professional and/or Chemical Dependency Professionals from Washington State DBHR.

Provides professionally written documentation and correspondence

Training and Supervision

Participates in Clinical supervision in accordance with WAC/RCW requirements.

Participates in agency supervision.

Obtains other training required by WAC and in accordance with the required Washington State licensure requirements.

Participates in staff meetings.

Attends other meetings as directed

Education and/or Experience

Master’s Degree in Mental Health or Human Service filed with curriculum specifically related to counseling and psychology.

One year counseling experience preferred

Current LMHC or LMHCA license from Washington State DBHR in good standing.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
