For his Eagle project, Ryan Alvord with Boy Scout Troop 711 in Maple Valley has partnered with a nonprofit organization called Be The Match which is a national marrow donor program. This organization helps patients with blood cancers who are in need of marrow or blood stem cell transplants find a donor match. Ryan is hosting a free registry drive where community members aged 18 to 40 can learn more about stem cell and marrow donation and submit a swab kit to potentially match with someone in need of a transplant. This event will be held at the Maple Valley Farmers’ Market on Saturday, June 17 from 9am-2pm. The address of the market is 25719 Maple Valley-Black Diamond Rd SE.
