Valley Girls & Guys, One.7, Inc. and Tina McDonough RE/MAX Select Rock Ravensdale!
True to Tina McDonough’s trademark style, it was a BIG, PINK party and celebration - despite the rain. More than a dozen pop-ups were set up outside the combined offices of One.7, Valley Girls & Guys and Tina’s Ravensdale real estate office. The tables were covered in bright pink and orange coverings, there was a plentiful barbeque buffet accompanied by beverages in pink K-cups and two pink cakes, along with a surprise visit from Cool Bird of the Thunderbirds Hockey Team. A celebration video of previous weekend’s 3 Day Walk for the Cure capped off the evening.
Referring to the celebration and ribbon cutting, Tina’s post on Facebook reads, “Ravensdale has never seen so many cars and it just makes my heart smile to know that you all braved the icky poopy rain and still came to celebrate this AMAZING PINKING team that just finished 60 miles in 3 days and came to celebrate businesses, friendships, and LIFE! YOU are WHO you surround yourself by and I couldn't be more PROUD to be surrounded by all of YOU and this amazing Ravensdale/Maple Valley community! Loves and hugs to you all! XOXO.”
After losing her friend to breast cancer, Tina and three friends began walking in the 3-Day Susan G. Komen Walk for the CURE in 2007. Since then the team of VALLEY GIRLS & GUYS, has raised over $1.8 million dollars. This year alone they raised a record breaking $344,336.41. Their combined power and strength is absolutely amazing and Tina’s enthusiasm, passion and commitment are contagious. Most everyone in this community has been touched by the Valley Girls & Guys in one way or another – as a supporter, as a walker, as a donor, as a sponsor or as a recipient of their generosity and compassion.
Amidst all the excitement there was another announcement –in the after-hours the Ravensdale offices of One.7, Inc., Valley Girls & Guys, and Tina McDonough will become the WHOhouse. The WHO comes from Bob Beaudine’s book “The Power of Who” – HOPE Starts With The Power of Who. The idea is the Ravensdale WHOhouse will provide cancer patients and their families and care-givers some respite and comfort; it will be a gathering place providing a bit of diversion from the everyday worries and struggles that cancer brings.
On the business side of things, Tina was first licensed in real estate in 2004 and has been with RE/MAX Select since 2011; her main office is actually at The Landing in Renton. She specializes in business opportunities, condominiums, horse property, lake/beach property, new construction, residential acreages and short sales. Because she is a life-long resident of this area, her focus tends to be in Renton, Auburn, Covington, Ravensdale, Kent, Maple Valley, Enumclaw, Buckley and Black Diamond. As in life, her business motto is "Work, Succeed, Be Happy!.”
One.7, Inc. was formed in 2005 as an off-shoot of the McDonough family owned street maintenance business, McDonough & Sons, Inc, another chamber member founded in 1982 by Pat McDonough. Over the years they found it difficult to find the quality, dependable equipment needed so Cory McDonough founded One.7, Inc. which now supplies quality street maintenance sweepers, parts, vactor trucks, snow and ice equipment and environmental equipment throughout the industry and worldwide.
Tina and Cory met in their freshman year at Tahoma High School and have been together ever since. They have three beautiful kids – Cody, Taya, and Trista and the family lives in Ravensdale. The McDonough’s are a family of passion and caring signified by Tina’s trademark sign-off – XOXO. Stop by and visit the Ravensdale offices at 27034 SE Kent-Kangley Road, right next to the Ravensdale Market – just look for the big sign and a pink car out front.
