City Launches Surveys to Assist with Economic Recovery
Maple Valley, Wash. – August 28, 2020 – The City of Maple Valley has entered into an agreement with the University of Washington - Tacoma Office of Community Partnerships, under the leadership of Dr. Ali Modarres, to conduct and manage a survey project consisting of a Business and a Resident Survey being launched today. This research project is being funded by an economic development grant received by the City from the Port of Seattle Economic Development Office.
The purpose of this project is to get a better assessment on the current state of business in Maple Valley and to learn more about the residents who commute outside of Maple Valley for work. The data collected from both surveys will enable the City’s Economic Development Commission to strategize and develop a plan for business recruitment, retention, and resiliency during this business recovery period. Both surveys will remain open until Friday, September 25 by 5:00pm. The research findings will be presented to the City Council in early November.
