*Attention Chamber Member businesses* We need your help! The Chamber Office will be participating in the City of Maple Valley, WA - Government's drive thru Holiday Light Display on December 18-20. We are in need of bags that we can display, with YOUR logo on them. All we need is one or two bags from you. We are setting up a SHOP LOCAL display, and we'd like to have as many businesses represented as we can get bags for! Deadline to drop off or for us to pick up is Monday, December 14th. City Launches Second Round of Economic Recovery Grant Program Maple Valley, Wash. - October 2, 2020 - The City of Maple Valley will launch the second round of the Economic Recovery Grant Program for local businesses on Friday, October 2. The second round of grant program funding was approved by the City Council on Monday, September 28 under Resolution R-20-1489 and is designed to support small local business and community organizations who have experienced hardship and significant loss of revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These federal funds have been given to the State of Washington and King County for distribution to cities to implement recovery programs for small businesses and community organizations. Key Eligibility Requirements Have been in business in Maple Valley for at least one year as of June 1, 2019 and be prepared to open as allowed by the State of Washington business re-opening criteria. The business is in good standing Have a business location within Maple Valley city limits Have a current Maple Valley business license Have employed at least one or more full-time employees (FTE) as of March 1, 2020 which includes the business owner Have experienced business interruptions, closure or curtailed operations, loss of sales, or other negative financial impacts on the business due to restrictions imposed to address COVID-19 Grant applications will open on Friday, October 2 and close on Friday, October 23 at 5:00pm. The City is launching it's You Matter Campaign in October. And they are looking at some creative ways to include the community and promote local businesses and organizations. The idea is to deliver bundles of You Matter cards to businesses. You can place them in your business near the entrance along with a flyer. The City's website will direct the community to participating businesses. And interested community members can stop in and pick up some You Matter cards to pass along, while they're shopping/eating in those locations. More detail in the attached letter. read more

For any additional PPE supplies that businesses need for re-opening, the City of Maple Valley will reimburse eligible businesses up to, however, not exceeding $300.00 per business. Please visit the Association of Washington Business PPE Connect website at www.reboundandrecovery.org/ppe-connect to locate a supplier that can assist you with your PPE needs. Note: If you purchase items directly from a supplier, please submit your receipt to the City for reimbursement. If a business doesn't have the funds available upfront to purchase the PPE supplies needed, they can submit a copy of their invoice (with the price quote) so that funds can be issued to allow the business to place their PPE order. Please submit any receipts or invoices for reimbursement to Finance2@maplevalleywa.gov Note: Your W-9 Form (Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) and Maple Valley Business License Number (UBI number) need to be submitted along with your PPE receipts. The City of Maple Valley and the Maple Valley Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce are committed to working with and supporting our businesses, especially during this period of Covid-19 restrictions.  While King County is in Phase 1.5 and when we move into Phase 2, restaurants are allowed 25% indoor seating capacity and 50% outdoor seating capacity.  The City and Chamber wish to help local business by establishing temporary outdoor seating.  Restaurants may expand their outdoor seating into parking areas which will be underutilized due to decreased capacity.  The City will have several conditions allowing temporary expanded outdoor seating.
