We will have a luncheon in July this year! Normally we would be playing golf but our Wacky & Wild Tournament has been rescheduled for August 19th. Our speaker this month is Taryn Hornby with Green River College's Small Business Development Center. She will be discussing what businesses should do to prepare and navigate the new normal of business. Now that businesses are opening back up - what should you be doing in order to plan for the future? Should you be re-evaluating your business plan because of the new normal? Focus on cash flow? How do you navigate PPP and EIDL loans? Bring your questions and she will answer them! read more

Maple Valley, Wash. - June 9, 2020 - The City of Maple Valley City Council adopted Ordinance O-20-700 at the Council meeting on Monday, June 8 which waives fees and permit requirements for temporary banner/special sales signs for a period of 90 days. Waiving the $25 fee associated with obtaining a temporary sign permit will assist in the recovery efforts of Maple Valley businesses who were impacted by the mandates related to COVID-19, including business closures. This temporary request was initiated by the Maple Valley/Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce. Waiving the permitting requirements will allow Maple Valley business to erect signs swiftly without delays in order to attract customers to their respective businesses. The substantive requirements of the City's sign code are still required to be met by businesses and failure to do so may lead to code enforcement actions. In addition, no more than two temporary signs per business are allowed by City code Questions and site plans should be directed to Matt Torpey, Community Development Manager, at matt.torpey@maplevalleywa.gov or 425-413-8800.
