We are SO excited to announce our 2020 "BAND TOGETHER" Virtual Auction hosted by the MV BD Chamber of Commerce! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to hold our annual GALA in person, so we are bringing the auction to the public in the form of a Virtual Auction. Date of Auction: Monday, October 26 - Friday, October 30. The auction will be open for 5 days and will end with an optional "Post Auction Virtual Happy Hour" on the last day, October 30th. (More details to follow). We need your help!! We are looking for auction donations. It can be an item, a service or an experience. Because it will be virtual, we will be showcasing the donations in a different way. Besides using high quality images of the donations, donors will have the opportunity to make a short 30 second or less video showcasing their donation, highlighting the auction and the need to support our local businesses (including their own) during this critical time. These videos will be shared on social media and will help bring more exposure to our auction as well as to the businesses! read more

City Launches Surveys to Assist with Economic Recovery - The City of Maple Valley has entered into an agreement with the University of Washington - Tacoma Office of Community Partnerships, under the leadership of Dr. Ali Modarres, to conduct and manage a survey project consisting of a Business and a Resident Survey being launched today. The purpose of this project is to get a better assessment on the current state of business in Maple Valley and to learn more about the residents who commute outside of Maple Valley for work. The data collected from both surveys will enable the City's Economic Development Commission to strategize and develop a plan for business recruitment, retention, and resiliency during this business recovery period. Both surveys will remain open until Friday, September 25 by 5:00pm. The research findings will be presented to the City Council in early November. To take part in this survey go to www.maplevalleywa.gov/surveys. read more
