The format is as follows:

• One minute opening remarks by each candidate
• A series of questions asked to all candidates requiring a Yes or No answer designated by flashing a green or red card
• Questions posed by the moderator, developed by the Chamber's Legislative Committee chaired by Bryan Kelley  and the editorial board of the Maple Valley-Covington Reporter
• Written questions submitted by the audience
• One candidate to candidate question
• One minute closing remarks by each candidate
