The Chamber in 2012 - Renewing
business partnerships in marketing, promotion, networking, leadership, advocacy,
and recognition.
The
chamber is approaching 2012 at full-speed with planning of events and marketing
opportunities. This month, we begin production
on the annual Preferred Business Directory. This directory is a community and
regional resource with a complete listing of member businesses, community
events, local organizations, and school district information. This year's approach is a bit different in
that it is an 'all-in-one' publication with a map insert in an effort to maximize
the marketing dollars of our advertising members.
January's
focus is membership investment renewals and new member welcomes. Last year we introduced five additional investment
levels tailored to meet the needs of our individual members. These investment levels offer a wide range of
benefits including marketing, promotion, networking, sponsorship, and special
recognition. It was enthusiastically
embraced by many of our members and we look forward to presenting those
opportunities to more of our members in 2012.
All businesses that have confirmed membership by mid-February will be
included in the 2012 Preferred Business Directory.
On
February 10th, we will celebrate the annual President's Dinner,
Awards & Auction. This is a
multi-faceted event - the Business of the Year recipients are announced;
networking in the form of relaxed socializing; and the auction piece generating
some non-dues revenue for the chamber.
Members, guests, staff, and family are all invited to attend.
February
takes us right in to the planning of the 10th annual "Hooked On
Fishing Trout Derby on Lake Wilderness".
This event is made possible by the generosity of our sponsoring chamber
members along with our partnerships with the City of Maple Valley and Maple
Valley Rotary.
All
these activities serve to fulfill the mission of the chamber - 'an organization
of the business and professional people of the area joining together for the
purpose of providing leadership, promoting a healthy economic base, and
elevating the overall standard of living while enhancing the general welfare of
the area.'
Please
say thank you to our local businesses for their strong support and investment
in our communities by shopping locally for the holidays.
