Happy New Year and welcome to 2011!
As the old adage goes, out with the old and in with the new. The Greater Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce has been working over the past year on some fabulous changes for the New Year.
Education for our members is something that has been in the forefront of discussions for some time so this year we are launching our Lunch & Learn workshops. As the name implies, these are working lunches that will provide opportunity for learning and hands on training in a small group setting. Our first Lunch & Learn is scheduled for January 26th, from 12:00 – 1:00 in the Lake Wilderness Lodge, Rainier Room. Michael Broome of CMIT Solutions will be presenting information about productivity using Microsoft’s Windows 7 and Office with valuable takeaways and an unbelievable door prize. – Microsoft Office Professional 2010 – that’s a $499 door prize! Space is limited so register today! We invite any member who has a specific skill or information that would benefit Chamber members to contact Sue VanRuff or Susie Davies at the office. Check the Chamber website for other upcoming events.
The biggest change that we are making is the implementation of our Tiered Membership Dues. We have been working incredibly hard to create new benefit packages for our members. Those members who prefer not to commit to sponsoring events in advance but rather make last minute decisions about sponsorships and are happy with their current level of membership will see no changes. The Tiered Membership levels above the basic level do provide more opportunities for our members to be recognized for their sponsorships throughout the year. In the past when you sponsored an event you received publicity for the few weeks before the event and a few weeks after the event. Now, when you sign up for a level above the basic membership you will find that you are guaranteed the sponsorship you want and receive recognition throughout the year. There are many more benefits to signing up for levels above the basic and we will be happy to share those with you. Additionally, all members’ anniversary dates will change to January 31st. Please contact the office and speak with Sue VanRuff or one of the Board Members who will be available to sit down with you one-on-one to answer your questions.
Keep checking the Chamber website for exciting new changes and information about upcoming events!
Have a wonderful and productive year,
