City of Maple Valley Police Department
Sept. 25, 2009 Press Release
Six Commercial Burglaries Occur Overnight in Maple Valley Sometime between late Thursday night and early Friday morning six Maple Valley businesses were burglarized resulting in thousands of dollars in loss. The victim businesses were in the Maple Valley Center and Hagen Plaza. They included Sentinel Paint Co., TMG Co., PCE Computing, Stan Parente Salon and the Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce. The Maple Valley Police Department is currently investigating these crimes.
Unfortunately, only one of the six businesses had an alarm system. Once the alarm was tripped, police arrived within four minutes. The Maple Valley Police Department encourages all business owners to consider installing alarm systems and owners or employees to call 911 and report any suspicious activity, persons, or vehicles in or around businesses.
In the near future, the Maple Valley Police Department in collaboration with the Maple Valley-Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Community Business Crime Prevention Summit. Additional details will be available soon. The Police Department also publishes a monthly Business Watch crime prevention newsletter. To receive an email copy of the newsletter, for additional information about business crime prevention or to schedule a free building security site survey, contact Storefront Officer Jeff Harmon at 425-413-5158.
