Everyone had a Wacky & Wild time at Chamber's First Annual Golf Challenge sponsored by Valley Medical Center
Proof is in the Photo Gallery; everyone had a great time. We golfed a little, bowled a little, a tennis ball came in to play a couple of times, and of course the challenges such as driving from the #1 tee while sitting on a toilet seat. The competition also included a scavenger hunt, trivia challenge, and five card draw poker game.
The winning team was captained by Eric VanRuff (Wilderness Auto Service & Chevron) with team mates David Setera, Chuck Muller, and Clark Davis (Mortgage Masters). Not only did they shoot 10 below par, they had a winning poker hand, found all the scavenger hunt items and answered almost all the trivia questions correctly. Their winning score was also achieved by the rewards of purchasing the AFLAC Mulligan package. Second place was captained by Kevin Patterson (Tahoma School District) followed by Shane Davis (Windermere) and his team. Tina McDonough's long putt on #13 won her the prize for 'Wildest' and 'The Wackiest' was awarded to Storm McNeil (SFM Asset Management Group) for breaking the toilet on #1. Prizes were also awarded for men's and women's Longest Drives, Eric VanRuff and Sue VanRuff (we do like our golf . . . ). All Service Plumbing took home the trophy upstaging Allstate, The Jenson Agency and Tina McDonough (Windermere) for best decorated carts. The All Service carts were adorned with plungers, toilet paper quotes, and trailing plastic pipes.
Our title sponsor,Valley Medical Center, enthusiastically participated in every aspect of the event including volunteers at registration, fielding a foursome, providing special golf scrubs for a few of us, and some Wacky & Wild course marshalling by Debbie Bird. Kinder Swimmer got in to the spirit of the day with a wacky challenge on hole #4. Leona Day and Carrie McCarthy set up a very colorful tee box complete with a carnival game bean-bag throw. Players who knocked down three little (plastic) ducks were rewarded with a tattoo.
