Congratulations
to Jim Flynn for receiving the Business of the Quarter Award for the fourth
quarter in 2011.
The selection
was made prior to January’s luncheon but since the luncheon was snowed out, the
announcement was delayed until finding an appropriate venue for the
presentation. Board President & Chair, Kevin Patterson, made that presentation this morning at the Maple Valley Rotary meeting with many Rotary/Chamber members in attendance.
With this award, Flynn
Development is now one of the four nominees for Business of the Year to be
announced at the President’s Dinner on Friday, February 10th at Lake Wilderness Lodge.
The nomination was prompted by the
words of Pastor Steve Murray at the chamber’s December luncheon. Steve’s praise reflected the thoughts of
others expressed over and over again:
- Jim is always fair, honest, and a man of integrity
- His unrecognized donations of time, money and labor
likely exceed all of his other activities combined.
- When no one is looking, he volunteers his time and
his company’s assets to help other community members
Here is just a short list of other reasons Jim
was selected ‘Business of the Quarter:’
- Made possible the chamber’s Small
Business Development Center in the Maple Valley Center Building-small business
incubator/satellite offices
- Collaborated with two other small
business owners that opened Tidings of
Joy, a temporary Christmas décor store in a newly vacated space in
Wilderness Village
- Serves on the chamber’s board of
directors
- Chairs the chamber’s Business
Development Committee
- Instrumental in the development of
GoMVPower.com-the shop local campaign.
Jim works hard every day as a hands-on
landlord and is totally committed to his tenants and their individual success
that helps contribute to the economic success of the greater community. Congratulations, Jim!
